VDO 150361 Boost and Vacuum Gauge, Series 1, Turbo, 0-30 in. Hg/15 psi, 2 1/16 in., Analog, Mechanical, Black Face. Comes with connector kit. Slight blem on chrome rim, but Gauge is new. Where to put them and how they can be used. There is no specific spot in most applications for the installation of these units. For most vacuum gauge installs, you will simply hook up to any vacuum source on the intake manifold (no partial/ported vacuum sources can be used). This could be as simple as teeing into an existing rubber vacuum hose, or may require removing, drilling, and tapping into the intake plenum (A more stable reading will be provided near the plenum). Vacuum gauges provide information that can aid in extending fuel mileage and engine efficiency by giving the driver an idea of his/her throttle position. High vac readings infer low throttle use and high efficiency, while readings closer to zero indicate high load, wide open throttle use.As for boost, the same is true for the install, as long as it is after the super/turbo charger in the intake manifold. Most of the time, you can find a source in the ductwork from the 'charger into the intake, by drilling and tapping into the intake manifold, or by finding a rubber vac hose that shows both the boost and vac readings.
